JOURNEY TO BECOMING A SIGA DEALER

I’m excited to be launching this blog and sharing with you more information into the world of high-performance building envelope products. Each month, you will receive my insight into some of the leading premium high performance building envelope products offered. This month, we will be having a look at the SIGA line of membrane and flashing tapes.

Why SIGA?

In about 2014, I started to pivot the focus of my business towards chasing Net Zero and Passive house opportunities and started to work more frequently with Passive Housebuilders in 2016. At that time, are quest came across for SIGA Majrexand SIGA Majvest vapour and air barrier membranes.

JOURNEY TO BECOMING A SIGA

After doing some research and reaching out to SIGA, I was unable to procure these products and I decided not to pursue them any further. Flash forward to the beginning of 2024, a colleague in the industry received an email about SIGA 500 SA self adhered WRB membrane, forwarded that email to me and asked my opinion. I was all over that like a cougar on a crippled chicken! We set up a meeting and quickly came on board as a SIGA dealer.

As mentioned, there was some familiarity with the SIGA brand but there wasn’t much of a demand back in 2026. However, I knew that there was demand and use for this product line in the NetZero and Passive House industries. SIGA is considered a high-performance membrane product with brand equity in the market. I definitely wanted to get in on working with this product and I’m glad that I did!

I decided to bring the product in as a stocking dealer and soon after existing clientele started ordering. SIGA took notice and began driving GTA business my way. Nine months later, I’m proud to say that RGS has become one of the top five dealers in Canada. Becoming a SIGA dealer has been extremely rewarding.
